How can we help you improve your quality of life?<\/p>\n<p>Occupational therapists help you deal with health issues that impact on your activities by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>looking at ways we can do the activities differently,<\/li>\n<li>teaching you skills that will help you do the activity,<span class=\"text_exposed_show\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"text_exposed_show\">using adaptive equipment or<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"text_exposed_show\">changing the environment you are doing the activity in.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>For example I see patients with breathlessness. Someone who has trouble sweeping the floor may need to use a long handled broom and dustpan to eliminate bending which worsens their symptoms. They can also learn breathing techniques that take the effort out of breathing and reduce the time it takes to catch their breath during and following the task.
